Сражаясь за внимание Подружки, пользователь должен успешно завершить все музыкальные недели, сыграв определенное количество мелодий. Игровая механика сильно напоминает похожие приложения вроде Guitar Hero, а интересный сюжет и романтическая линия увлекут любого музыканта.
Сюжет и геймплей
Играть предстоит за юного Бойфренда, который хочет завоевать внимание своей возлюбленной. Однако отец девушки заставляет героя пройти ряд испытаний, где парню необходимо победить врагов в музыкальной битве. Каждый раунд представляет собой рэп-баттл, а игрок должен вовремя нажимать на соответствующие кнопки, попадая в такт. Точное воспроизведение мелодии влияет на шкалу здоровья противника, которая расположена внизу экрана.
Весь игровой процесс разделен на недели: всего их 7 без учета обучающего уровня. Каждую неделю игрока будет встречать новый босс, начиная от отца Гёрлфренд до Танкмена – самого агрессивного противника. Пользователю дана возможность выбирать один из трех уровней сложности для эпизодов. Между уровнями появляются кат-сцены, разбавляющие геймплей.
Сюжетный режим является основным для FNF, однако также есть режим свободной игры. Здесь пользователь может пройти эпизод с определенной песней. За успешное завершение недели игрок получает очки опыта, которые отражаются в виде рекорда вверху экрана. Удачная последовательность нажатий добавляет комбо-усиление и дополнительные очки.
Игрока окружает сеттинг уличной рэп-тусовки. Сам Бойфренд одет в широкие штаны, футболку и кепку, а его враги меняют внешний вид. Рядом с героями на большой колонке сидит Гёрлфренд. Все персонажи выдают разнообразные реакции, если игрок ошибается, а если попадание признано удачным, то Гёрлфренд восклицает подбадривающие фразы, написанные в стиле граффити.
